HELP! - My husband and I are starting our kitchen and put in new cabinets, lighting, flooring. All of these things. I started with company age soffit above the sink. Previously, there were two types of recessed lighting in the soffitto. But if he soffitto took place, we have two big holes in the ceiling with electric son coming out! The holes each a foot wide!
The furnace has happened in this place today, compared to a window. We do not have many options for solving it.
Can anyone suggest ideas about what to do. We need education .. except that the options are open!

If the ceiling is plaster (plaster) or plaster, you can see the plaster or plaster can be cut back to the middle of the roof beam. Cut a piece of plasterboard plates and screws to the joists. Use smooth drywall tape and joint compound and deciduous trees (spatula) to the joint. Then, the texture, if necessary, depending on the rest of the roof.
When the roof is made of wood or metal, hard to match to a device that you can build a wooden box around the flat area on the stove and attach your new light on this point. There was a trade before I assume that the window is not all the way up to the limit, so it should work properly
If the window goes all the way up to the ceiling, you may have to cut a portion of the damaged roof and put in the new boards or whatever the material of the blanket.
Will you put a hood over the stove? We could build install low enough to the bell in the kitchen and use of existing infrastructure. Or build a wall made of plaster or put a rack in the short term. If any of these options, just patch the holes with plaster and put any kind of light you want.
